Two sides of an artistic motion

Posted by
Sriram (Chennai, India) on 30 March 2015 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

I am starting yet another new series on the Kattaikuttu festival 2015, this time was a 2 day event covering many form of performing arts and focussing predominantly on Kattaikuttu. Like every year, this year too drew big crowds into this lovely village around Kanchipuram called Punjarasantankal. Kattaikkuttu is a rural theatre form practiced in the State of Tamil Nadu in South India. The performers are predominantly men who sing, act and dance and the musicians accompany them on the harmonium, the mridangam and the mukavinai. The terms Therukkoothu and Kattaikkuttu are often used interchangeably.

Spotlight feature for the 76th time and color spotlight for the 37th time - 113 times featured in total. Totally humbled and motivated to do better. Not a day goes without Aminus3 in it. Thanks Aminus3 community for such kindness. :)
